Hard Drives have fallen significantly in price over the last couple of years. So if your DVR only has a small hard drive fitted it is now very cost effective and easy to upgrade. Alternatively you may wish to expand the recording time capabilities of a more recently purchased DVR.
There are 2 types of Hard, one is know as IDE, these hard drives are nearly always fitted to what are commonly referred to as Standalone DVRs, and your instruction manual should confirm this. A lot of more recent standalone DVRs will take 2 or even more hard drives so you can just add one at anytime. They are very simple to add and our engineers can assist you over the telephone.
The second type are SATA these are usually fitted to PC based DVR`s like our Vguard range. Again these are easy to fit and they come pre partitioned and formatted for use in PC based DVR`s. Our engineers can again talk you through installation
